A Dual Solution
To meet regulatory requirements of BS EN 1500-1: 2019, the standard states that there should be a ‘means for prompt natural or forced-draft ventilation of such areas after any discharge of extinguishant.’ It also requires that ‘venting shall be provided to prevent excessive over or under-pressurization of the enclosure.’
At Puma Fire we have developed a single solution that addresses both of these building obligations, and unsurprisingly, it’s a popular product! Puma Fire offers 12 standard inert combined fire extinguishant and pressure relief dampers as well as 9 for synthetic gases. We cover all types of gases, installations and sizes. We also offer bespoke solutions.
Two Become One
The combined fire extinguishant and Pressure Relief Damper uses a single wall opening solution to provide both gas extraction ventilation, and over or under pressure relief in one unit. Not only does this address two building obligations in one but it saves on building costs too – requiring only one hole in the wall rather than two.
All of our combined fire extinguishant and Pressure Relief Damper units are fitted with a fire rated Pressure Relief Damper, fire/smoke damper, 240V actuator, direct driven fan and motor assembly, wall mounting plenum, telescopic duct and external weather louvre and bird screen. We manufacture our products using Zintec steel, and polyester powder coated to RAL 9010 white, although special colours are available on request.
At Puma Fire, we also offer units for post discharge fire extinguishant extract only. All of these are fitted with two hour rated fire smoke dampers and efficient fans ensuring compliance to BS EN 15004-1:2019. Our full range can be found below, and as always, we can provide bespoke.
Combined Fire Extinguishant Extract and Pressure Relief Dampers
Puma Fire offers an extensive range of combined gas extract and pressure relief units which are tested in a full-scale furnace/wall (from both directions) certified to the correct BS EN standards (BSEN 1634-1). This means our products have been awarded full classification of BS EN 13501-2. We also hold UKAS accredited free vent area validation to BS EN 1341-1:2012 and closed blade leakage class to BS EN1751:2014. Our solutions cover all gases, sizes and installations. We also provide bespoke.
